Why Passion and Optimism is key in starting and sustaining a business

Just as hunger and thirst are key motivators for propelling one towards a goal, so is passion when it comes to business. Without that hunger, you will fall short and “ship out” when tough times come calling. And tough times are more common than rare in business, a truth many do not appreciate before deciding on the business they want to start.

Our efforts in business may not receive proportionate rewards. And naturally, some voice from inside tells you to quit. Many do throw in the towel.  Without a compulsive desire to succeed, and a stamina to boot, failure is almost assured.

You need to assess the level of passion you have for the business you have chosen. The challenge always exists in determining if such an appetite or passion is present and in what scale. More is discussed at length about Business passion in the article on ‘a businessperson as an entrepreneur’.

Failure in business in several cases is attributable to lack of optimism and negative attitude. Without passion, wrong advice from less knowledgeable sources is acted on. In several cases, some businesspeople exit prematurely from otherwise feasible undertakings. When you possess a strong Business passion, you can plan for more time to allow the business to grow. You will not give up at the slightest sign of discouragement.
